Treasure Hunts
Overview:
Teams get to hunt for hidden loot – treasure hunt style! This is the perfect activity to instigate time management, delegation of duties, communication and evaluation of skills.
Each team is given the main highlights of this treasure hunt scenario along with clues, advice and ultimate objectives of the hunt. The general area is designated and the team disperses and can go by foot, use a taxi, or some other means of transportation.
The treasure hunt for hidden booty is quite flexible and adaptable to most locations. Teams receive all the tools they need to succeed – as long as teamwork is the name of the game! Activities you will likely encounter are:
On the Hunt:
Your team is given a specific route to follow around the designed place along with a series of tasks which will lead you to more clues. This exercise helps the team learn the “lay of the land” so the treasure hunt could be a success.
Picture Perfect:
Your team will have various challenges to conquer using a Polaroid camera. Creativity is key to solving some of the challenges and you may find yourself in the midst of a public spectacle whether it is re-enacting a movie scene or playing a children’s game in the middle of the town square. You will have photographic evidence that you conquered your challenges.
Scavenger Hunts:
Your team must set out in the search of some of the oddest objects around. You just never know where you are going to find a foreign newspaper, a dunce cap or a bright purple balloon! The more items you retrieve on your list, the more points the team earns!
Step Back in Time:
During your team building festivities, there will be some time for a few historic jaunts back in time. Touring castles, old churches and cathedrals, parks and even museums could be on the itinerary if you choose.
Belly Up to the Bar:
Pubs are a favorite haunt and a great casual setting for loosening up the team building spirit. You can incorporate a few pub hopping excursions in your team building festivities for business, pleasure or both! Everyone is more laid back and amenable to change with a pint or two.
Team Building Contests:
You can choose to be as competitive as you want with any of these team building challenges. Employ interactive moves by capturing your opposing teams in action on film or compete against each other in a variety of activities. The choice is yours!
A Bowling Extra:
You may choose to throw in a couple of hours of bowling with a side of a little friendly competition among the teams. A tasty buffet is a great way to make the bowling extra a fun way to pave the way to the team building awards ceremony.
Awards Ceremony:
Team members have had the opportunity to earn points throughout the day with the various team building activities from the bowling, finding items in a scavenger hunt or even capturing the right picture perfect moment on film. Winners and runners-up are announced and prizes awarded.
When planning your team building events, you have the option of choosing a theme that carries over for the entire day. Choose a favorite decade like the 50s or a western movie and carry elements of them throughout the day.
