Quintessentially English
Sometimes, a relaxing day is best for team building, especially when the surroundings are quite in keeping with a garden party theme. You may not remember the times of old but there was a more genteel time filled with garden parties and all the activities that accompanied them like croquet and badminton.
You can have a lively team building day without becoming too exhausted from the activities. In a laid back atmosphere reminiscent of old style English garden parties, you all can experience these different activities:
Badminton:
Sort of a tame version of tennis, Badminton consists of hitting a “birdie” with a small racquet over the net to an opponent without it touching the ground. You can play individual or double team games.
Life-size Chess:
If you love the strategy of chess, then you can expect great things from this giant life-size chess board! You can play one on one or do the speed chess thing and recruit two or three players for each side. The rules are the same as board chess, only the pressure is on, thanks to the life size of the game.
Croquet:
Wooden mallets, wooden balls and little hoops in the yard … all of these equate to a fun game of croquet. You must have a good eye to hit your mark and a competitive spirit to get the best of the other team mates.
Lawn Bowling:
You don’t need a wooden lane to go bowling! Consider lawn bowling instead. The rules are a bit different but the fun is the same!
Other Kid Games Come to Life:
Jenga, Twister, Connect 4 and draughts are all popular games that can be quite fun to play with others when they are life-size. These are great ice breakers if you are in your first day of team building exercises. Some of these games can be played individually while others are can played in a team format.
